The idyllic ripening conditions around Marlborough's finest vineyards sprout some of the world's most prized Sauvignon Blanc. Twin Islands creates exceptional Marlborough wines, which are crafted with early and regular enjoyment in mind. Since inaugural release, Twin Islands has represented excellence in winemaking, delivering fully flavoured, benchmark Sauvignon Blanc. One of Hunter Valley's great winemaking estates, home to the nation's best known Verdelho. Tucks Ridge continue to produce the style of wines that other estates can only dream about. Chef TV superstar Iain Hewitson came to Tuck's Ridge once for a single episode of his cooking adventures and filmed seven. So what's not to love about Tuck's Ridge? Damien Tscharke, proprietor, grower and winemaker is a sixth generation vigneron and Roseworthy baccalaureate who graduated with honours in viticulture. Girl Talk Savagnin is vinified from Albarino, an Iberian varietal that's native to the cool, windswept corner of northwest Portugal and Spain. Moscato is traditionally a clean and fresh young white, oozing plentiful luscious grape characters and a hint of fizz, a wine that says summer at any time of year, just perfect with your favourite foods and dessert. Treviso is a quenchingly fruit driven Moscato wine, in lively Mediterranean food oriented styling, unwooded and refreshingly clean. Light bodied and medium sweet on the palate, beautifully perfumed with juicy sweet grape characters, more ripe fruit, honey and grape flavours on the tongue, Treviso titillates with a pleasant spritziness.

Forty percent less carbs and joules? Yes it's true! Two Thirds is a low alcohol, low carb dry wine, assembled from the two most popular and complimentery of all white grape varietals, Semillon with Sauvignon Blanc. Suitably mated for their mutual compatability, highly prized for their luscious fruit characters, enjoyed everywhere as the most appealing contemporary style of crisp and dry, exuberantly refreshing white wine.

Trentham have retained their identity as a unique, artisanal winemaking estate, amongst the boundless expanse of commercial Riverina vineyards. Close attention to each individual vine is the key, harvests of piquantly flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with bright acids and exemplary varietal charm are the result. Textural and effusive like a tropical fruit frappe, lime and gooseberry, lychee and guava characters flow from the juicy palate before a long passionfruit finish, the first choice in a crisp dry white, to accompany crustacea, hors d’oeuvres and pate.

The Murphys were among the first settlers to establish vineyards around Mildura. The family moved to Trentham Cliffs in 1960 and re-developed a site which was part of a larger sheep station, irrigated by the nearby Murray River. The first vintages were destined for fortified wines, as was the market demand of the time. Blocks were later planted to Pinot Gris, which performed brilliantly in the rich red loam over limestone soils. A crisp and fresh table wine, just lovely alongside garlic recipes or everyone's favourite chicken caesar.

An exemplar in Sauvignon Blanc, by one of Margaret River's finest family estate owned and operated wineries. Salitage are renowned for the quality of their fruit and skill at minimalist vinification techniques. Extended resting on lees has contributed mouthfeel, a mouthfilling, textural palate and enticing complexity. A pure Marlborough wine, one that encompasses all that is appealing in the clean and fresh expressions of ripe, fruit driven Sauvignon Blanc. Assembling harvests of the best grapes is essential, Totara's meticulous team know all the most dedicated growers and retain access to the finest parcels. A lifted nose of lemons and grapefruit, flinty mineral nuances and hints of soft tropical fruit leads you to a palate showing crisp citrus characters, subtle fresh asparagus, finishing refreshingly dry.

Torres are especially proud of their whites. Miguel A.Torres made his first vintage of Viña Sol at Penedes in 1962. He chose Parellada, a grape with a history, it makes a wine with a distinctively dry fruit freshness. Viña Sol sits smoothly and crisply on the palate, with plenty of fruit before finishing to an adults only dryness. Quite comfortable in the company of most any fine faire, Viña Sol is one of those drinks that says, kiss me quick and feed me! Excellent as aperitif and highly akin to tapas or pastas, jamon and melone, Iberian style pizza or paella.

Twice Gold Medal Challenge International du Vin! Moscatel and Gewürtztraminer grapes, grown to estate vineyards on the mountains of the Upper Penedes, form the backbone of fruit for Viña Esmeralda, a delicate but strunningly fragrant wine. The dry fig and raisin characters of Moscatel de Alejandría give Esmerelda it's luscious and flavourful palate, fleshed out by the orange of Frontignac or Moscatel de Grano Menudo as the Spanish say, further enhanced by the complex aromaticness and spice of the vivacious Traminer.

Torrent Bay is for the discerning enthusiast. The Drummond family pioneered horticulture and agriculture on Motueka Hills in the late 1800s. Today they capitalize on their prodigious local knowledge to produce the region's finest Sauvignon Blanc. Crafted from the choicest parcels of fruit with ongoing attention to detail throughout vinification, Torrent Bay stands out from the rest, just like it's scenic namesake on the coast of Abel Tasman National Park. A clean and dry Sauvignon Blanc in new world world styling with true varietal character and regional charm.

The Apulian shoreline has been visited for millennia by raiders and traders who plundered for booty or traded for profit. The Greeks and returning Crusaders brought grapevines from the east, Chardonnay arrived much later as local growers imported plantings from Le vignoble de Bourgogne. Apulia is surrounded on three sides by sea, the maritime climes stimulate vines and infuse grapes with the prevailing brinyness of salty winds. Just perfect for Chardonnay. A crisp fruit forward Chardonnay that smells of Mediterranean and tastes like the fruit of paradise.

Fashioned with the savoury, food friendly dry whites of southern France in mind, Woodcutter Semillon is the ideal tonic after a long day in the vineyard. The copper hued skins of the characterful and ancient Madeira clone of Semillon, fleshes out the palate markedly, infusing the complexity of pineapples and almond kernel, roasted cashew and ripe white peach. A match to creamy French style curries, yabbles and frog legs almondine or grilled fishes on fragrant rice.

Rhône Valley grapes seem to flourish in the Barossa, enthused by sunny Mediterranean climes and stimulated by the cooling breezes off Gulf St Vincent. Torbreck retain access to the finest parcels of white Rhône varietals in the entire Valley. Woodcutter is fashioned to be dominated by a larger component of Roussanne, which provides the structure and length, Marsanne adds complexity, texture and palate richness. Viognier contributes pure, floral lift, finishing the wine with a measure of refinement and mark of elegance.

David Powell planted Viognier in 1994, with a view to emulating the great growths of Condrieu. Powell is enamoured of the beguiling Viognier, an essential component of his Shiraz flagships, it offers remarkable eloquence and great distinction when grown and crafted without compromise into a pure varietal wine. Only ever made in the finest vintage years and immediately recognizable as an exceptional wine, the white of choice to accompany Sauce au beurre blanc sur les poissons ou quenelles, garnitures à la financière ou quelque chose au pâte feuilletée.

On a highland trail, the place to stop and rest when weary is known as a Bothie. Torbreck have been tinkering away at a sweet wine since 2001, the idea was always to construct something that's just a little bit different. This sweeter style of Frontignac exhibits lifted fruit aromatics, lifted perfumes of rosewater and honeydew melon, geraniums and lime, very characteristic of it's Barossa provenance. Bothie is a very versatile wine that can be enjoyed either at the start of a meal or nicely chilled at the end, alongside fresh fruits and cheese, ice creams or sorbet.

Inspired by the lusciously rich, mineral scented dry whites of La Vallée Rhône, Torbreck have assembled the essential cépage of Marsanne, Viognier and Roussanne, sourced entirely from the distinguished Descendant Vineyard at Roennfeldt Road in Marananga. Five rows each of superior vine, set aside every year for the construct of full bodied whites to rival the classics of the old world. A seamless experience in silken texture, to accompany anything seafood, west coast marron or moreton bay bug, brewed mussels or deftly prepared abalone.

Torbreck founder Dave Powell acquired prime viticultural land at Marananga in 1994, with the express purpose of establishing blocks of white Rhône varietals. The precious plantings on Descendant Vineyard are now fully mature, Roussanne in particular lends itself to the vinification of an artisanal small batch effort, crafted in the minimalist old world way. Its exceptional purity of fruit is fully reliant on determining the ideal time of harvest within the narrow window of perfect ripeness. Each individual row of vines are assessed daily in the lead up to picking.

Marsanne was at the top of list when Dave Powell established his first vineyard at Marananga in 1994. He stylized his designs on the great Crus of Hermitage Blanc, mouthfilling wines of savouryness, elegance and beguiling balance. Parcels of Marsanne are picked by hand throughout the early hours of morning, pressed into the previous year's French oak Viognier barriques and treated to a wild indigenous yeast ferment on heavy gross lees, infusing the palate with distinctive pastoral richness. An amenable match to crackling pork and roast white meats.

Vinified from top quality fruit grown to superb vineyards at Dixon's Creek and Yarra Glen, crafted by the winemaking teams of Shadowfax and Yering Station. Toolangi are highly regarded by industry peers, their Chardonnay is a tribute to a great vineyard, pruned and thinned to yield minimal harvests of the finest fruit. By those wonderful folks who bring us Shaw & Smith, Tolpuddle was planted to vine in 1988, on a highly precious site along Back Tea Tree Road, just outside Hobart. The inaugural vintage claimed Tasmanian Vineyard of Year in 2006, Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith acquired the property in 2011, with a view to elevating the excruciatingly limited release Tolpuddle wines to the status of a national Grand Cru. Tim Gramp is fifth generation of the family which made Orlando Wines famous. Tim has continued the tradition under his very own label, his estate wineworks are fortuitously based in the Clare Valley, home to some of Australia's finest Riesling vineyards. Tim Gramp is fashioned to a classically dry Riesling style. The palate is smooth and integrated, with a touch of intensity, elegance and refinement, ahead of a lingering, dry finish. An immensely well received and highly lauded wine to be found in Jetstar international business class.

Tim Adams knows about Clare Valley Semillon. He began his career as a cellarhand for the Stanley Wine Company, rising to the position of chief winemaker, he also worked under the tutelage of Mick Knappstein. Adams objective with Clare Valley Semillon is to retain its freshness and authenticity, for an aromatic wine of exquisite balance and generosity of flavour. Ferments in French oak infuse complexity into the grass and stonefruit character of Semillon.
