To celebrate, in a gesture considered innovative and inspiring, Benno selected a puncheon of his finest wine and gave instructions that it was not to be bottled for a hundred years. This became a magnificent tradition and Seppeltsfield Wines are now the only winery in the world to have significant stocks of wine laid down over consecutive vintages for more than a century.
