Myrtle Point Vineyard was established between the foothills of Bass Strait and Great Dividing Range in the 1990s, chosen for its invaluable terra rosa over limestone soils. The site grows an amazing quality of Merlot, planted to a terroir and clime, not dissimilar to the varietal's spiritual home along the banks of Dordogne. A lovely plum and cassis flavoured wine, seasoned by a mill of savouryness, draped in velvet tannins and sheathed within a veneer of fine French oak. Less than a hundred dozen are made with every vintage.
